Mikael Ahlström, Founding Partner

Mr. Mikael Ahlström founded Procuritas in 1986.

Mr. Ahlström has over the last twenty years served as a board member in several Procuritas associated companies such as Swedish Match AB, Gunnebo AB, Ticket Travel Group AB, LIC Care AB, Bravida ASA and Lekolar AB.

Presently Mr. Ahlström serves on the boards of Gram Equipment AS and Oral Care Holding SWE AB. He is a member of INSEAD's International Council. Prior to 1985, he was Managing Director of ESI Coal Inc., a US natural resource and energy company and worked at the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in New York.

Mr. Ahlström holds an MBA from INSEAD, France and the equivalent of a BSc Econ from the University of Lund, Sweden. In 1985, he received the Dr Marcus Wallenberg's Scholarship for International Industrial Enterprises Studies. In 2009, in conjunction with INSEAD’s 50th Anniversary, Mr. Ahlström was named by INSEAD as one of the 50 alumni “who changed the world”.

In 2004, Mr. Ahlström founded Charity Rating, the first non-profit organization in the Nordic region which evaluates charitable organizations’ efficiency and capability of creating value. Today, he serves as Chairman of Charity Rating. Mr. Ahlström and his former wife have also founded CHELHA, a foundation giving grants to individuals and organizations keen to foster democratic processes or studies.
