Dantherm Group acquires the Master Climate Solutions Group (MCS) in Italy

Skive

Effective February 2017, Dantherm has acquired the Master Climate Solutions Group (MCS) in Italy from the Italian private equity firm Alcedo SGR. MCS is headquartered in Italy with subsidiaries in Poland, Russia, Spain and China.

MCS is a global supplier of portable equipment for heating, dehumidification, cooling and ventilation, for professional applications in a variety of sectors. MCS has more than 60 years’ experience, is the market leader in Europe and one of the most renowned companies in China and the US.

The acquisition of MCS is a key milestone in the expansion strategy of Dantherm following the acquisitions of Calorex Heat Pumps Ltd. in the UK and Schönmann AG in Switzerland in 2016. The Dantherm Group will now exceed revenue of EUR 100 million with more than 500 employees spread across 12 countries.

Torben Duer, CEO at Dantherm Group says: “The acquisition of MCS allows us to greatly expand our range of portable products and become a global market leader specialising in climate control. We are excited about the opportunities that MCS provides in terms of market presence and product offering to existing and new partners and customers”.

Hans Wikse, Partner at Procuritas says: “We are delighted over the fact that MCS now will be a part of the Dantherm Group. This acquisition is in line with our vision of consolidating the highly fragmented European HVAC industry and will create one of the largest specialized players in climate controlling solutions”.

MCS and Dantherm will continue to operate in the market as two independent brands, and will utilise each other’s market and product strengths, thereby forming the basis for increased growth of both companies.
