Procuritas acquires the Atlantic Continental Group

Press Release, Stockholm

Scandinavia’s leading independent custom declaration service provider plans expansion.

Procuritas Capital Investors III acquires the majority of the shares in Atlantic Continental Group, Scandinavia’s leading independent custom declaration service provider. The group consists of the four independent custom declaration providers: KGH, SGS, Tulldeklaranterna and HN Spedition. Besides a strong presence in the Scandinavian market, the group also has activities in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The total number of employees in the group is 270.

The group, which up till now has been majority owned by Mr Jan E Evensen, provides a complete set of custom declaration and handling services for companies that either are importing or exporting goods. “It has been a very exciting journey together with all our skilled co-workers to reach the strong position we have in the market today. Due to health reasons I have decided to step down, and I wish the new owners all success in taking the company to the next level” says Mr Evensen.

The acquisition of the Atlantic group is the result of a thorough assessment of the custom declaration and information logistics sector by Procuritas. “The Atlantic group has a very strong market position within the independent customs declaration market in Scandinavia”, says Patrik Rignell of Procuritas Partners KB, who are advisors to the Procuritas Capital Investors III fund. “Through the strong local position and the competence within the companies, the stable increase in international trade as well as the increasing requirements on declarations from the authorities, we see a very strong platform for further expansion in Northern Europe” states Mr Rignell.

The new CEO of the Atlantic group, Mr Vidar Gundersen, joins from a successful career with the Swedish Customs Authority. “I am honoured to take on the challenge to further develop the business into new markets. We have strong teams in the companies with outstanding knowledge and long lasting customer relations which gives confidence for the future development” says Mr Gundersen.
