Procuritas’s Medtanken platform partners with regional leader HMC and expands to Region Skåne

Procuritas Capital Investors VI (“Procuritas”), the mid-market Nordic private equity investor, announces that its portfolio company Medtanken, a leading primary care group in Western Sweden, has entered into Region Skåne through the partnership with Hälsomedicinskt center i Sverige AB (“HMC”), a fast-growing primary care provider in the region.

With its passion for building strong sustainable businesses through transformational growth, Procuritas is facilitating accelerated development and multi-regional and digital expansion of the group. Today’s expansion is the third add-on acquisition, following investments in Citysjukhuset and Kvarterskliniken last year.

Founded in 2008, HMC has five primary care clinics and three occupational health care clinics with c. 150 employees, over 30,000 listed patients, and a turnover of c. 230 MSEK. In addition to traditional primary care, it also offers a range of other health services, such as pediatric and elderly care.

The partnership with HMC marks Medtanken’s first expansion outside of the Västra Götaland Region and will act as a platform for further growth in Region Skåne. Following the addition of HMC, the Medtanken group will offer 26 care clinics, over 140,000 listed patients, and turnover of c. 1 BSEK.

“We are very impressed by HMC and what the team has achieved through their focus on high quality and evidence-based care. With HMC as part of the Medtanken family, we will continue to expand Medtanken’s clinical patient care offering and geographical footprint into the Skåne Region, taking the next step in the group’s journey towards becoming a leading player within the Swedish healthcare market.” says Oskar Lindholm-Wu, Partner, Procuritas.

“Having built up a great partnership and trust for close to a year, we see how great of a fit Medtanken and HMC are, both in terms of organization and shared cultural values. We are proud to be partnering with Medtanken, and with the additional backing from Procuritas, we are excited and looking forward to embarking on this journey together” says Anders Tegenrot, CEO, HMC.
